Alison Krauss
The first surge of public recognition was for bluegrass singer Alison Krauss in 1990 when she was 19, she walked away of her first Grammy Awards with the trophy for Best Bluegrass Album. It was an accomplishment and not just because of Krauss's age but because the album that won her the award, I've Got That Old Feeling was actually third release in Krauss's catalog. The first album, Too Late to Cry, was released when she was Champaign, Illinois, native was 16years old. She had been signed to Rounder Records--one the top folk label in the business--at the age of 14. Her achievements even at a young age, as well as her musical virtuosity has been consistently supported by her ability to been a loyal supporter of bluegrass, one of America's oldest and least appreciated musical genres. Krauss is now an experienced performer and producer who had developed from a teenage phenom.
